Safe spaces is a free online training designed to help early care providers, TK-12 educators and other school personnel recognize and respond to trauma and stress in children.

A foundational premise of Culturally Responsive Teaching and the Brain is that relationships in the form of learning partnerships are the starting point of becoming culturally responsive as an educator. What is Culturally Responsive Teaching?

Our mission is to educate families, communities and professionals about trauma and resilience in order to promote survivor empowerment, resolve individual and community-level trauma, and create the safe, stable, nurturing relationships that break the cycle of generational trauma.

The Redwood Community Services Training Department is committed to bringing mental health and wellness education to Mendocino, Lake and Humboldt county communities. Our innovative learning model enables professionals to choose training and educational experiences that work for their schedule, learning style, and career path—all at no cost to learners. Our training opportunities include live, virtual events, self-paced courses, and in-person experiences organized around seven domains: evidence-based/evidence-informed service delivery, direct service/behavioral health delivery skills, trauma-informed systems, harm-reduction and substance use principles, client safety practices and techniques, foster care & adoption system, and management & leadership development.
