Maternal Mental Health (MMH) disorders include a range of disorders and symptoms, including but not limited to depression, anxiety and psychosis. When left untreated these disorders can cause devastating consequences for the mother, her baby, her family and society. These illnesses can be caused by a combination of biological, psychological and social stressors, such as lack of support, a family history, or a previous experience with these disorders. Maternal anxiety and depression are the most common complications of childbirth, impacting up to 1 in 5 1-3 women, yet they are not universally screened for, nor treated. The good news is that risk for both depression and anxiety can be reduced and sometimes prevented, and with treatment women can recover.

Founded in 1986, it is one of only a few museums in the world dedicated to the display of tattoo artifacts. Located in Fort Bragg, across from the Guest House Museum, the collection is fittingly housed in one of the town's original Victorian storefronts. This huge mural is a narrative history painted by local painter, art historian and former Mayor Lauren Sinnott. It is a depiction of the region’s past and present, with an expression of our hopes and dreams for the future. The wall is split into twenty-six vertical panels creating a chronological march of events, achievements and realities. Each panel represents an essential chapter in the story of Mendocino County through specific scenes, topped by an iconic word.

The Ford House Museum and Visitor Center is both a historical Museum Circa 1854 as well as the official visitor center for the village of Mendocino where you can find travel information, pamphlets, brochures, a gift shop, and a very knowledgeable and friendly docents to answer any questions you may have.

At the top of the curve coming north out of Little River sits a small white building on the right. The building was originally built by the Knights of the Good Templar in 1885 and has been used as the community center since that time. Now, over 100 years later, the building is a museum and a historic record of the early days of this pioneer town on the west coast.

The Mendocino County Museum is home to over 60,000 artifacts and offers permanent and rotating exhibits showcasing the county’s rich heritage. Visitors can explore unique displays of local business memorabilia, rolling stock, historic agricultural artifacts, and much more. Special permanent exhibits feature Native American Heritage, Train History, and a recreated old-fashioned creamery. The Roots Of Motive Power Museum in Willits exhibits a wonderful collection of preserved and restored power equipment and locomotives from the days of the logging industry. We strive to provide a high quality and developmentally appropriate program for Native American children ages 2 ½ through 5. Our goal is to work with families to properly prepare their children for Kindergarten and entering into the school system.

At Clear Lake Christian Co-op, we desire to to create an environment conducive for each kids' growth - socially, mentally, and physically. As our children are being taught by the people that love them the most, they will feel comfortable to explore their environment through fun activities, laughter, songs, games, and hands-on experiments and crafts. The California Kids Investment and Development Savings Program (CalKIDS) was created by the State of California to help more children have an opportunity to save for higher education. The program, administered by the ScholarShare Investment Board, will automatically provide newborns and eligible low-income public school children in California an initial seed deposit, plus other possible financial incentives so that they can start saving money for college.
