In support of this mission, CASA of Mendocino & Lake Counties is committed to the following values: – Advocate for the best interests of children. – Provide comprehensive training programs to educate volunteer advocates. – Recruit volunteers to act as Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA’s). – Provide ongoing support to CASA staff and volunteers. – Create and maintain public awareness and educate the community regarding child abuse and neglect – Provide advocacy networking and liaison with public and private agencies and individuals. – Act in liaison with, and at the direction of, the Juvenile Court Judge. **Unfortunately unable to advocate for Family Law Cases**

iFoster's mission is to ensure that every child growing up outside of their biological home has the resources and opportunities they need to become successful, independent adults. We provide a free platform of resources for foster care youth, caregivers, and organization.

The mission of the California Office of the Foster Care Ombudsman (OFCO) is to advocate on behalf of foster children and youth regarding their care, placement, and services. The OFCO is an autonomous entity that is empowered to investigate and informally resolve complaints impacting foster youth, increase awareness about foster care rights, and make recommendations to help support systemic change.

Our Village Closet (OVC) is committed to improving outcomes and building resiliency for youth and caregivers affected by foster/kinship care in Sonoma County by providing relevant, ongoing, no-cost supplies and support. Our goal is to equip foster youth and caregivers with support and resource connections, essential supplies, and materials that can help fortify a safe, consistent, and nurturing home environment for those impacted by the welfare system. By doing this, we hope to provide needed, extra layers of support that strengthen connections and help the youth and caregivers of foster care feel seen, feel heard, and feel a sense of belonging. In doing so, we work to make it easier to say, “YES!” to fostering CARE to youth in need.

Self-care is about doing the things that help you live well: physically and mentally. And, self-care activities are unique to each individual.

We utilize an attachment lens; meaning we believe that the source of most children’s difficulties lie with-in the context of their relationships with their attachment figures.

Safe spaces is a free online training designed to help early care providers, TK-12 educators and other school personnel recognize and respond to trauma and stress in children.

A Home Within is a national nonprofit that recruits and supports volunteer clinicians who offer free weekly teletherapy to youth currently in care and foster care alumni.

Becoming a Resource Family starts with a willingness to open your heart and home to a child or youth who needs you. When you choose to become a Resource Family (foster parent), you become a very important member of a team of professionals who are dedicated to the welfare of children and youth.
